Trade union GMB has appointed Future Plus to create a national title

11.02.2008
Trade union GMB has appointed Future Plus, the contract magazine division of Future Publishing, to create a national title for its members.

GMB, which has more than 600,000 members in the UK, said it would be working with Future Plus to develop a new magazine that will launch in March and bring together nine regions' worth of news into one national publication.

The magazine, which will be released three times a year, will aim to strengthen the union's relationship with members, while representing the different voices and needs of readers across the regions.

The title will comprise 32 pages including a 16-page regionally segmented outer section, which will enable each area to promote local news, events and target content to specific members.

Paul Kenny, GMB general secretary, said: "It has been an ambition of mine to provide a national magazine for GMB members across the UK and in March 2008 we have achieved that aim.

"GMB has been impressed with the professionalism and care Future Plus employees have taken in assisting GMB staff to put this very ambitious project together."

Future Plus' relaunched GMB Scotland's membership title, Insight, last year, and also produces contract magazines for Worldstores, Odeon and PS3.
